We are now looking for volunteers to help with the project. The first roles we are looking to fill are supporting interviews with artists and group leaders between June and September 2019, for instance by filming or recording the interview and transcribing them.
This a great opportunity to gain more knowledge about Indian dance, acquire new practical skills recording and transcribing and to be part of a project to safeguard an important part of the history of dance and of the Black Country for the future. You will need to be able to learn how to use basic recording equipment and/or to type up accurately what the interviewees said.
We will cover travel costs incurred getting to and from interviews. The interviews will mainly be in the West Midlands and will take about 4 hours including travelling time.
We will be looking for volunteers to fulfil other roles from the Autumn onwards so please look out for call outs for these:
· Digitising photographs and logging any objects that can be loaned for the exhibition.
· Supporting the exhibition i.e. preparation, installation and stewarding.
· Volunteering to help with the festival i.e. registration, guiding attendees, looking after presenters/performers.
